Women could rule, stay how they are, or be worse and back down to where they were in the 19th century.

There are so many issues going on right now. Like abortion, rape, women in the work place, image issues, just sooo many.

But hopefully in the future, women will be able to choose FREELY about what they want to do with THEIR bodies, They can choose either to give up their babies or keep them. They will be able to get paid the same or even more than men when hey work the same jobs. There will be less attacks, like rapes or sexual harassment.

For a women, the future sounds nice.

modern women in the work place

That is such a bad representation. I know that most working women aren’t like that, they are definitely more serious. Women are made to feel like they need to work harder and be more serious than men because men were the breadwinners…BEFORE.

Women are still being treated like it’s the 19th or 20th century. Women are breadwinners now too. It’s totally reasonable for men to be the stay at home dads!

Here’s a statistic: “56.5% of all mothers with children under the age of 1 were in the labor force” in 2011. (http://www.catalyst.org/knowledge/statistical-overview-women-workplace)

A mother with a child under the age of 1 is working, that was crazy back in the day, but it’s normal now.

What doesn’t make sense to me is why women are being paid less for doing the same jobs as men. Because men are the alpha dogs? NEGATIVE. Maybe in the Baby Boomer generation or something, but it’s the 21st century!

Not only do women have to worry about being paid less than men for the same jobs, they also have to worry about sexual harassment issues.

I don’t remember the name, but I was watching this show and this women had been promoted and was in with the “top dogs” which only had men. Because she was in a vulnerable position, just being promoted and the only woman, she was harassed by a coworker. She felt like she couldn’t say anything because it was the first day! That pisses me off, no women should ever be treated that way.

EQUAL IS THE WAY.

How is this relevant to women and freedom?

Abortion, rape, plastic surgery, who women “give” themselves to, it’s all a controversial issue because people make it one! Other people, women AND men, have to put their faces into other people’s business. IT’S A WOMAN’S BODY, LET HER DO WHAT SHE WANTS WITH IT.

I saw this episode of Law and Order: SVU, and a woman went to the pharmacy to get the morning after pill, and the woman working said that she wouldn’t give it to her because she doesn’t believe that other women should throw away their chance to become pregnant, or something along those lines. And the women trying to get the pills was only using it because she didn’t want to give birth to her abusing husbands baby. Moral of the story: Don’t push your beliefs on others when you don’t know the reason for their decisions.

About eight years back, my mom got a tummy tuck because she wasn’t feeling good about herself. My mom also buys expensive and nice looking things. She loves posting everything she does on Facebook. I asked my dad why she did these things. He told me that my mom had nothing as a child and now she works really hard to buy her expensive and nice looking things that she loves posting on Facebook.

I don’t like plastic surgery, personally, but if a woman wants to feel better about herself and if she’s like my mom, and had nothing and works hard for her money, why not? It’s her body and money, she should be able to do what she wants with it, without people criticizing her.

Women’s bodies should be free from other people’s opinions. Ladies remember; IT’S NOT THEIRS, IT’S YOURS.

Violence

I believe that violence (domestic, sexual assault, etc.) is an issue. But I don’t believe that if women were in charge we would live in a more peaceful world. Maybe it

would be a little better, considering I hear a lot more women say NO to war compared to men.

But women can also be hostile. We women have learned to keep in our anger because tempers and tantrums are for men. But I think because of how the generations have changed, women aren’t the only victims of abuse anymore. We women are allowed to speak our minds and have HUGE tempers. Men are now allowed to be weak and be called victims. I also think that women can get away with abusing men because men have been pushed in a corner for abuse. If a man even pinches a woman nowadays he’ll be yelled at and beat up and called a woman hater or a rapists. So when a woman hits a man now, he can’t hit back, he can’t even yell back, they have to take it.

“A recent study in the Journal of Family Violence found many male callers to a national hotline experienced high rates of severe violence from female partners who used violence to control If a woman goes to the gym, it’s usually not to get muscles, but to tone up or lose weight and get that flat stomach. If a man goes to the gym, its usually to get muscles. So if women do use weapons more than men, it’s probably because it’s a bit easier to defend themselves compared the “strong” man.them” (http://divorcesupport.about.com/od/abusiverelationships/a/male_abuse.htm

“Virtually all sociological data shows women initiate domestic violence as often as men, that women use weapons more than men, and that 38% of injured victims are men” (http://divorcesupport.about.com/od/abusiverelationships/a/male_abuse.htm)

If a woman goes to the gym, it’s usually not to get muscles, but to tone up or lose weight and get that flat stomach. If a man goes to the gym, its usually to get muscles. So if women do use weapons more than men, it’s probably because it’s a bit easier to defend themselves compared the “strong” man.

It could also go another way. Women can be so mature and rational that if women put aside the abuse (verbal, emotional, physical) that men have caused, if women didn’t want revenge or didn’t fight (literally) back, the world could be very peaceful.

Race and Gender

I believe that a link between race and gender does very much exist today. Whether it be a white woman, african american woman, african american man, or white man, everyone has some sort of assumption. If you see a white woman with a kid walking down the street, one might think in their head, “she’s probably a stay at home mom” or something like that. Or even if you see an african american woman with a white kid, you might think she’s a nanny (but its the 21 century, ADOPTIONS hello), but there are assumptions. Tell me not, if you’re on the bus or in a gas station mart or something, and an african american man with like baggy ass jeans and a bandana on with his hands in his pocket comes in the store, someone is gonna tense up. IT’S ALL BECAUSE OF THE MEDIA. We all watch movies, tv shows, and even stories that we hear from others. The media focuses more on if an african american man robs a store, more than if a white man did it. And even if a white guy wants to dress with baggy ass jeans and a bandana, he can’t because people will be like, “wanna-be, poser, tryna be black” all that bad stuff. SERIOUSLY, why can’t people be color blind and everyone see each other as equals. For example, Barack Obama. Now, that’s a big issue. Some people don’t like that he’s black and because of that they won’t even listen to his views.

Forget the color people and more peace will come, I promise.
